Choosing a yoga class is kind of like deciding on an ice cream flavor... There are plenty of different kinds, it takes a few tries before you find your favorite, and some make your face hurt. Because we love you and we want you to be happy (one of yoga's many perks), we invite you to inhale deeply and shift your gaze to this Weekly to find the right place to downward dog.

Learning yoga doesn't mean spending a fortune. Jump on a free week at Core Power Yoga where Stacey K comes out speaking Sanskrit: "Namaste, chaturanga, svasana: Not only do you learn cool yoga terms but you leave feeling at peace and you get an awesome workout! I was intimidated at first because the rooms were heated, but now look at me! I'm chaturanga-ing like a pro!" Arielle R's "favorite studio on the Westside, hands down," is Bryan Kest's Power Yoga. "The flows are challenging, always new and wicked hard. I am always shaking in the core poses and dripping sweat in the vinyassa flows. There is such a sense of fun and lightness, and all the classes are donation-based."

Gear for your workout is a must. Sonia T gets her goods at Brentwood Dance and Activewear: "They have fashionable yoga clothing at good prices." Meanwhile Angela K brags, "Ya Ya's Boutique is an awesome find! I scored some amazingly soft, affordable t-shirts and stretchy skinny pants that are a cross between yoga pants and jeans. I could teach a yoga class and then head straight to dinner with friends!" Theoretically...

When you're ready to get into your flow, head to The Green Yogi: "The class moves quickly, people will do splits and headstands along the way; it's the most intense yoga I've ever done," claims Vicki D, but "it's multi-level so you don't need to be a real yogini to give it a try." Lisa B recommends going for a pre-Bloody Mary sweat fest at 5 Point Yoga: "It was a challenging class and the instructor was very attentive and hands on when needed." And Jes G is infatuated with getting her ass kicked at YogaPoser: "Every time I go, I leave feeling stronger, more at peace, and completely drenched in sweat. I'm seriously addicted." Hey, the only thing she isn't stretching is the truth.
